The South of Namibia is generally dry with wide open spaces, straight, long roads and spectacular sunsets.
Grunau is an ideal base station from which to explore, or a perfect overnight facility on your way to the Fish River Canyon or the Sossusvlei Dunes.
The Quiver Tree Forest and Giant’s Playground is situated en route to Windhoek, just past Keetmanshoop and is well worth a visit.
Stop over at the Gibeon War Graves a few kilometers further north of Keetmanshoop. The British Station Cemetery contains a plot with the graves of 33 Commonwealth (South African) soldiers who fell in the Battle of Gibeon (27 April 1915).
